The Cornfields now selling from Cathedral Meadows, West Rainton

Meet Helen, Our New Sales Executive at Banks Homes!

We’re excited to introduce Helen, the newest addition to the Banks Homes team! Helen joined us in April as our first official Sales Executive, bringing with her over 11 years of experience in the new homes sector. Here’s a little more about her:

1. Welcome to Banks Homes! Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to a career in new home sales?
“I’ve worked in new homes sales for 11 years now, and I have to say, it was the best career move I ever made! Before this, I was a travel agent, and I feel like the skills I gained there – from customer service to problem-solving – have transferred really well into the property industry. It’s been a natural fit, and I’m so glad I made the change.”

2. What attracted you to the role with Banks Homes and what are you most excited about?
“I’ve heard nothing but great things about Banks Homes, and after seeing the quality of the homes at West Rainton, I knew I wanted to be part of the team. The attention to detail in every build is exceptional, and the new sales centre suite is a real reflection of the high standard our customers can expect throughout their journey. It’s an exciting place to be!”

3. What’s your first impression of the homes and developments here?

“The homes are genuinely impressive! The standard specification is really high, and what you see in the show homes gives a true sense of the quality you can expect throughout. It’s rare to see such attention to detail as standard.”

4. How would you describe your approach to helping buyers through their homebuying journey?
“I like to think of myself as professional, informative, and approachable. I want buyers to feel comfortable speaking with me, knowing they can ask anything they need. My goal is to help people find their perfect home and give them all the support they need to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.”

5. What’s one piece of advice you always give to people looking to buy a new build home?
“My top advice is to always visit your chosen house type more than once. The first time you view it, you might only notice the furniture and colours, but you need to live in the space to truly understand how it will work for you. And definitely wait to buy furniture until you’ve moved in – your home will tell you exactly what it needs once you’re settled.”

6. Can you walk us through a typical day in your role as a Sales Executive?
“No two days are the same! I could spend my day in the sales centre talking to potential buyers, responding to enquiries, and chasing solicitors and estate agents for updates on sold plots. Or, I might be out on-site in my hard hat and boots with the site manager, checking the progress of the homes. It’s a really varied role, and there’s always something to keep me busy.”

7. What do you enjoy most about working in the property industry?
“I love seeing the new designs and styles of homes – there’s always something fresh to admire. And as corny as it sounds, I get just as excited as the buyers when I hand over the keys to their new home!”

8. Are there any particular homes or features in our current developments that stand out to you?
“I’m particularly looking forward to the Broadoak and Hawthorne homes at our upcoming development, The Cornfields at Yarm. I love the open-plan kitchen-diner-living spaces in these designs – they’re perfect for family living.”

9. What do you like to do outside of work – any hobbies or weekend favourites?
“I’m definitely a girly girl! I love feel-good movies, and the new Bridget Jones film was my latest indulgence. I’m also a big fan of bright handbags, the more colourful the better! And spending time with my family is really important to me.”

10. Finally, tea or coffee – and what’s your go-to biscuit for a showhome chat?
“Definitely tea – and it has to be paired with a Bourbon biscuit, of course! You can’t go wrong with that combination.”

Helen will be based at our Cathedral Meadows development selling The Cornfields, Yarm and is available for appointments Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm.

If you’re starting your homebuying journey or just want to find out more, pop in and say hello – she’s looking forward to meeting you!
