We’re delighted to welcome Sarah to the Banks Homes team as our Sales Executive at The Pastures in Hambleton, North Yorkshire. With her friendly personality, wealth of customer experience, and genuine enthusiasm for housebuilding, Sarah is already making a brilliant impression on both our team and customers.
We caught up with her for a quick chat to learn a little more about her background, what brought her to Banks Homes, and what she’s most excited about as The Pastures takes shape.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and your career journey so far?
Hey, my name is Sarah, I’m a mum of two – Jordan (26) and Abi (24) – and I’ve been married to my hubby Nick for 28 years (we’ve been together since I left school!).
I started working full time at 16 in Barclays’ mortgage department, which gave me a great introduction to the world of property. Most of my career has been in admin and customer service roles, but my move into housebuilding came thanks to a friend who loved her job and encouraged me to apply for a role at Redrow Homes. I stayed there for five years before joining Avant in January 2024 – and now, here I am at Banks Homes!
When I’m not at work, I love baking for friends and family, listening to music, and travelling the world. My favourite destinations so far are Florida, Italy, and Dubai.
What drew you to Banks Homes and The Pastures development?
I first heard about Banks Homes through LinkedIn and then met Aisling by chance when she visited my previous development to look at other builders in the area. That conversation led to this opportunity – so thank you, Aisling!
The specification at Banks Homes is one of the best I’ve seen, and the contemporary design and high-quality finish really stand out. I’m also really proud to be the first sales executive in the North Yorkshire region, and I can’t wait to help make The Pastures a success.
What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m really excited about being part of something new from the very beginning. I love a challenge, and as Banks Homes grows in recognition, it’s going to be amazing to help spread the word and watch the brand go from strength to strength.
How are you settling in, and any tips for buyers visiting The Pastures?
I’ve already met a lot of the team across our different sites – from Harewood House to Meadowfield, Cathedral Meadows, and The Cornfields – and everyone’s been so welcoming.
I’ve also been in touch with all customers on The Pastures database and met a few lovely people at the recent Camblesforth Hall launch. Until our sales cabin opens in Hambleton, I’ll be based two days a week (Mondays and Fridays) at Preston Baker in Selby, so please do pop in to say hello or chat about your new home!
What do you love about Hambleton, and what will The Pastures bring to the village?
Hambleton has such a close-knit, friendly community. I love that locals gather around the mobile coffee van in the mornings to catch up, and I’ve been told that Christmas Eve is a big village event, with everyone gathering to sing carols around the huge Christmas tree on the green – how lovely is that?
The Pastures will be a fantastic addition to the village, offering a range of homes for first-time buyers, families, and downsizers alike. It’s a great location for those who want a peaceful village lifestyle while staying close to Selby, Leeds, and York.
